ANTHROPOLOGIE!

just a quick one, i’m desperate to get to Anthropologie that’s just opened on Regent Street, just look at these lovely boots, cute clutch & sweetest slip ever created that they have available! i can’t wait to find an excuse to get in there & get shopping!!!

xoxo

as the days & weeks are steadily heading towards the Party season, i thought it was high time i started looking for this years christmas & new years eve dresses!

there are some amazing prints around at the moment, delicate mix & match, photographic, abstract & block printed, neon light prints like something from Tron,  they are all so lovely! I think Christopher Kane’s cloud printed dress, which is like a beautiful sunset to carry around with you, is definitely my favourite by far!

TEA!

” i believe that it is customary in good society to take some light refreshment at five o’clock”

Oscar Wilde – the Importance of being Ernest

“we had a kettle; we let it leak:
our not repairing made it worse.
we haven’t had any tea for a week…
the bottom is out of the Universe.

Rudyard Kipling

i love a cup of tea, which comes as no surprise to many people i know, at uni i lived with many other such tea drinkers & we had to buy in bulk for all the cups of the stuff we went through!

i have become a slight tea snob of late, i blame the pants typhoo they insist on having at work. i think’s made my tea tasting buds over sensitive, so i’m only ever happy with Assam for everyday & earl grey when i need to sit quietly with a book or my sketchbook….. but then there are all the odd special occasion ones i pick up on tea shopping trips, (yes i go on tea shopping trips) Cinnamon, White tea & coconut, intensely orange/red Rooibos great with milk or without, jasmine, russian caravan, mad tasting Lapsang Souchon (which i was once told smelled like the Jorvik Viking Center) and the best ever peppermint by TeaPigs in wonderful little chiffon pyramids!

sorry where was i going with this….. oh yes every great tea lover, every now & then loves a trip to a pretty tea rooms for afternoon or high tea, which is the treat i have in store for me on saturday. well the treat is not only for me it is mainly for my darling mummy, who is coming to visit from the cold icy north. I have just discovered she has never graced the doors of Liberty’s…. yes SHOCKING i know!  So i am taking her to TEA on the ground floor as a tasty treat!

the inital reason i am Liberty bound is for a fabric forage for my latest commission, i am very excited about the prints i have already seen on the website

ohhhh i am so excited already

Lark Song

this weekend is rather an exciting one actually, after weeks & weeks of slaving away behind a sewing machine & getting high off spray paint i have finally finished the costumes for the Lark ! here are couple of sneaky photo’s i’ve pinched from the clever lighting designer Emerson….

now if i haven’t flogged this pony enough already the performances are on:

Friday 30th October @ 8pm

Saturday 31st October @ 3pm & 8pm

Friday 6th November @ 8pm

Saturday 7th November @ 3pm & 8pm

as this weekend’s performances are over Halloween i’ve persuaded the back stage crew to come in fancy dress! hopefully it will make the fellas in tights on stage feel a little less self conscious!

who is Angrydan? i keep seeing his stickers dotted about the streets in camden, near my office!

could it be i have found my soul mate….or is it just a rubbish band?

x0×0

i’ve spent the weekend up in Lincolnshire visiting my mummy, shopping (as always), country shows and pretty towns full of lovely architecture….my new favourite town center is in Newark (which is actually in Nottinghamshire, but my mum lives near the county border so we tend to stray over it from time to time). It’s wonderful spacious town square was surrounded by Georgian, Tudor & Norman architecture & what’s left of the thriving industries of the Industrial revolution,  (Newark being one of those towns which has been constantly inhabited for hundreds of years, it tends to become a mish-mash of different building styles, all piled up on top of each other).

oh yeah & here’s my lovely new Melamine egg cup & spoon from a Nigella Lawson / Conran collaboration! i need to get some eggs asap!

fang-tastic

i’ve got new obsession & i recommend you all get a piece of this action:

it’s the newest series to cross over the Atlantic, the background goes thusly Vampires are getting equal rights as citizens because of artificially created plasma made by some clever Japanese boffins, supposedly removing their need to feed on humans, there’s sex, there’s violence, there’s hot vampires, hot humans, there’s a slightly nutty old lady & my favourite character at the moment Lafayette, all mixed up in the steamy deep south!

Roh who has Sky & get’s to see all the exciting new series first had been rabbiting on at me about it for AGES! Now it’s on Channel 4 every Wednesday night & i am hooked!

Have a look at the funky trailer here

i’m going to start reading Anne Rice Vampire books again before you know it!
